Summary
Provides administrative support to department faculty that hold editorial appointments with professional mathematical journals.
Duties
Provides administrative support to department faculty members who hold editorial appointments. These currently include: Notices of the American Mathematical Society, Proceedings of the American Mathematical Society, Mathematics of Computation, Advances in Computational Mathematics, and American Mathematics Monthly.
Must possess sufficient writing skills to compose letters, memos and other miscellaneous correspondence. Must possess some technical typing skills, be proficient in the use of word processing, databases, and electronic communications and have advanced computing knowledge with the ability to design, create and utilize complex spreadsheets which will be vital in tracking activity on manuscripts currently in process. Familiarity with basic accounting principles/practices also required. This position requires accurate attention to detail, excellent organization skills and time management skills, and the ability to maintain absolute confidentiality in all matters.
Must possess proofreading skills and have extensive knowledge of grammar and punctuation. Must effectively communicate, in a highly professional manner, with faculty, researchers and outside reviewers, national and international university faculty and research mathematicians who submit articles for publication.

Education
Required:
Bachelor's degree or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in business or liberal arts.
Experience
Required:
Three years experience in office administration.
