I want to learn how to write a script

Postby clownface135 on Fri Sep 29, 2006 2:24 am

Can anyone tell me the best way to learn how to write a script? Are there classes or workshops or books?

The 1st thing you should probably do is buy some scripts off of the internet and read them. It will give you a good idea what a real script looks like.

A seminar or workshop would be good, but it's really just a jumpstart. If you want to take it seriously, look at a major film school where you can take classes for writing.

You can check out the screenwriters guild website and see what they recommend. They might have licensed seminars and stuff where you can learn to write for film and TV.

I suggest attending the "Derek Zoolander Center For Kids Who Can't Read Good: And Want To Learn How To Do Other Stuff Good Too" In all seriousness, a school is your best bet if you have no idea what you're doing. If you've done your research and need help getting over the hump, a workshop or seminar would be great.
