Screenwriting Contests

Every year thousands of screenwriters will enter their screenplays into contests across the globe. Some screenwriting contests are exclusively for comedy, some for horror and some strictly for film shorts. Regardless of the genre, these screenwriters will try their hand at the big time by putting their screenplay on the line against thousands of other screenwriters, hoping for the same glorious outcome, getting recognized. Sure there is prize money to be won, but the big money and recognition is usually the goal. Entering your screenplay into a screenwriting contest or screenwriting competition won't guarantee you anything, but it is an opportunity.
